Warmth - “Dialogues in Montenegro”

Associate professor Deja Piletić, holding a PhD in Italian language and literature, is someone I’ve known since childhood. She read the book Dialogues in Montenegro and she drew the attention to the alchemy of optimism but, more importantly, she described the book in one single word - warmth.

Deja chose the following dialogue to underline the ‘‘power of words’’ and the ‘‘power of grandma’s words’’.

*

“I was four years old. Whatever I wore, my grandmother would tell me: Everything suits you! I'm forty now, I always remember those words.”

(Dialogues in Montenegro, p. 23)
